in 2007, the ps3 lost 5 million in the gap between ps3 and 360. 2008 they lost 2 million, and in 2009 they gained 2 million. following this trend they should gain 5 or 6 million in 2010, and by early 2011 close the last 1 or 2 million gap (depending on your numbers for the current gap) and surpass 360.thoughts?following this trend, ps3 will surpass 3 ...
by then the ps4 will be out?following this trend, ps3 will surpass 3 ...
the 360 is still a good 5mil ahead in global sales, so I don't think that this will happen

I agree the PS3 will outsell the 360 by Febuary 2010....if the 360 falt out stop selling.
The gap is currently at 8 million according to Sony. You think they'll outsell the 360 by EIGHT MILLION units in one yer?
How do you go from gaining 2 mil in 2009 to 5 mill in 2010?
I don't see how it matters which console is where in 2011, considering both have over 30 Million users...at this point, it's GAME TIME GUYS!:P
The gap is currently at 8 million according to Sony. Using simple math, and your numbers and patterns, it seems like your saying PS3 is in for a loss of millions :|
Unless your saying that it'll sell 5M but then your assuming 360 won't sell AT ALL. Not true but whatever helps you sleep at night

i understood him, when he says ''they lost'' he means sony, and he's talking about how the gap started at 5 million and lost 2 million ( so the gap is 7 million) then gained 2 million ( back to 5 million) and for god knows where his logic that he has but it will double that gain in 2010! really there is no trend here, it started off 5 million, lost some , gained some, and we are back to square one.
by then the ps4 will be out?
the gen wont end till 2012,13 maybe even 14. The companies are finally getting comfortable and with new innovations like natal and arc it could be awhile till ps4.
Who cares, it's the games. People are buying them as the blue-ray source in home cinema packages anyway, so it's not a true indicator of popularity as a games console
I will take any bet that the PS3 has not passed up the 360 by Feb 2011.
And what if it doesn't? Will we still care?
That's not the point, he's a fanboy because he wants the ps3 to win. This is gen is over, sales, marketing data, anecdotal evidence says everything between the 360 and PS3. I think your math is horrible...
They (SOny) have gained almost a million per year since launch. So, it will take them 6 years to catch up.
What's interesting is at this point last gen, the ps2 had close to 60-80 million more than the original XB. How the times have changed.
