... and I'm glad. It's such anobvious rip-off of the God of War franchise that I was really hoping to see it fail because plagiarism pisses me off. But apparently, Visceral Games can't even cheat right. :PI know this is a heated debate, but I just wanted to state my side of the issue. I'll end with a message to anyone and everyone that owns, plays, or somehow has access to a PS3: please do not support the disgusting plagiarism of Visceral Games and do not buy Dante's Inferno. The sad part about all this is the fact that they really aren't terrible developers. Dead Space was great, and original/innovative for the most part at that ... why would they follow that up with a game that literally feels like a spin-off of another franchise. It's just lazy and shouldn't be tolerated or supported at all in my opinion. What do you all think regarding this issue?Dante's Inferno is getting mixed reviews ...
God Of War is not all that original either imo. With that said, Im not excited for Dantes Inferno at all, looking forward to the new God Of War thoughDante's Inferno is getting mixed reviews ...
Looking forward to neither despite owning both consoles.
Where's the plagiarism?
You want a game to fail? That is pretty pathetic if you ask me...
so the **** what TC?i really don't care if a game looks like a game as long as that game turns out to be goodsure it has the same gameplay, but it has it's own story, characters, weapons, and what have youthe way you GOW fanboys are acting like is like they copied EVERYTHING...they only thing that is a copy is the gameplaySR was a copy of GTA and everyone was acting the same way they are now...whining out their ***es....i for one think SR is far superior to the GTA series (all except vice city)
I could say the exact same thing about God of War in terms of it being unoriginal.

Considering the combos, movement, camera, enemy types, animations, environment, and button layout are pretty much ripped right out of the God of War franchise, I'd say it's plagiarism. I'm constantly reminded of God of War when playing the Dante's Inferno. There was honestly not one scene/fight in the entire demo that didn't remind me of God of War. The game never fails to remind of its inspiration, so much so that I can't appreciate it for what it is.
Obviously, in this day and age, every new game borrows from previous games to some extent, but you know a developer has crossed the line when a game borrows so much that you can't appreciate it as something unique ... you always feel like you're playing a sequel or a spin-off instead of a new title.
I was ashamed that I even finished the Dante's Inferno demo because it was such an obvious clone. In fact, there wasn't one moment during the demo (after the intro cutscene) when I felt that this game was original or different that God of War in some significant way, and that's ridiculous.

I never said being unoriginal was unacceptable, and I never said that God of War was original. All I'm saying is that Dante's Inferno is too similar to God of War that it's shameful.

I want this game to sell terribly just like I would want a cheater to fail an exam. Visceral Games cheated with this game if you ask me.
I can't believe one single design decision has caused so much uproar with all the god-of-war-clone bs. I mean, dead space had an obvious design decision to play similar to resident evil 4 as well, and yet I didn't see this many people crying about it. Probably people do complain only about stuff that has nothing to do with them, in this case a not-shooter game.
obviously you have a PS3 TC....DI is coming to the PS3 as welljust enjoy both games....it's really that simple

what about Bayonetta???

I agree with you 100% this game should fail simply because they've almost stolen GOW's engine.
Surprised it's only just sitting in the yellow on Metacritic really. I mean when I played the demo I thought it would get like below 50 on metacritic.
just bec of you *****ing i think i will pick up this game next week,, you just sold a game tc.. hope your proud
I never thought it was anything special after playing the demo...
I feel like Dante's Inferno is VERY similar to God of War, but I don't want it to fail because I like Visercal and we've seen over this past yearwhat happens to studios when their games bomb. That being said I wont be buying Dante's for the simple reason that I'll be broke this month after commiting money to Mass Effect 2. Bioshock2, and Heavy Rain.

By your standards we could call Uncharted a Gears of War rip off. HUD and button layout is nearly the same. You move from arena to arena of cover based fight sequences. Gears of War had pillars, Uncharted had Pillars. Same enemy types too: Snipers, Foot soldiers, run on hands and feet zombie/locust things. Both had same weapons, sniper rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, revolvers. Both had a vehicle sequence. The player has control over the camera in both games. The little indicator of where your grenade was going to land. Sure Uncharted had some platforming, but there was only like 20 minutes of it.
