Dead Space 2 Will Have Modern Warfare-Le ...

sorry i can't provide the link its not working for some reason, anyway i found it on ign and no one seems to have started a thread about it.it seems that they are focusing less on horror and more on action, including some ''modern warfare-level action''.what on earth is going on. everytime i hear news about dead space 2 it seems like they are going overboard with it and taking out everything that made the first one awesome. Your thoughts?Dead Space 2 Will Have Modern Warfare-Le ...
Can we drop the charade and call it ''Aliens'' already?Dead Space 2 Will Have Modern Warfare-Le ...

Can you have that much action and still be a horror game?
No please don't make this an action game, keep it more about tension and horror than action
thanks for adding the link
Can we drop the charade and call it ''Aliens'' already?
That's a reasonable comparison. It also means I'll just think this one is simply decent.
Well, it is true that the first game failed in horror, but this does just reinforce that horror in videogames is just fail any way you slice it.

Then again, I haven't seen a horror movie in the last decade (read, I was a young tyke back then) that can actually manage to unsettle me.
bad sign I think, what made the first dead space so captivating was the mysterious and horrific atmosphere. a more focus on action really would make it more RE 5 like which
Space Airport Scene :o
Good news. I want some intensive action sequences with the great atmosphere showed in the first one.
While I'm not too happy about abandoning the isolated tension of Dead Space 1 in favor of more action, I could see this possibly working. Imagine a ''Dawn of the Dead'' esque atmosphere, where you don't necesscary have the feeling of pure isolation, but have a great sense of tension due to overwhelming, powerful odds and few resources. This could work well with the planned inclusion of other characters and a large setting (the city-like space station.) I dunno how this would exactly work, but if they could pull it off it would be neat.
Good news. I want some intensive action sequences with the great atmosphere showed in the first one.
Which begs the question: how much action can you shoe-horn into Dead Space without ruining the atmosphere?
I beat Dead Space, slow, survival, and horror would be three words I would never use to describe that game, it reminded me of RE4 (No surprises here) and boosting the action wouldn't be bad IMO, as long as they kept the same creepy atmosphere as the first.
sure lets get rid of what everone liked about the first!

A whole lot. :P

Huh? The first one was very action-packaged.
When will video games figure out how to correctly do horror?
i.e they are pulling a RE3 - RE4 transition. Not a big fan of dead space anyway. Despite the complete lack of anything survival horror related, i much preferred RE5 to it.
Done well this could be an amazing experience. Modern Warfare has its fair share of quieter bits mixed in with crazy explosions and what not. If Dead Space could have a few massive action scenes with many friends ''holding the line'' then mixed with a few scenes of solitude it could make for a very engaging experience. Really only time will tell...
