Metro 2033 is a big rip off.

It's being developed by former GSC employes and those buggers coudn't wait to rip off Stalker. There's allready suspicion that 4a games stole the X-ray engine or at least some parts of it.Both Stalker and Metro 2033 are based on Russian literature. They both have this post apocaliptyc setting. They even both look the same. Of course Metro is coming to the 360 so it will have dumbed down graphics and A.I. But then again it might turn out like Risen or Divinity II where the PC version was great and the 360 version sucked. Will see..Metro 2033 is a big rip off.
who cares if its similair... Torchlight was from people who worked on Diablo and it turned out to be a godo little hack and slash rpg.. like DIablo, but still good.Metro 2033 is a big rip off.
On PC it's one of the best looking games available, it has very good human AI, it's not just loosely inspired by a book but it's entirely based on it, it's a linear shooter and has many original gameplay mechanics - from the gas mask filters and timers to ammo being currency. Your reasons for calling it a rip-off are so shallow and dumb that this topic, unlike your ME topics, isn't even funny.
Sounds to me you are only a 360 hater :? You already have a ME2 bashing thread and now this. Also, a few days ago someone posted some vids of Metro 2033 running on a 360 and it looked amazing ;)

Are you talking about Metro 2033? I wasn't aware any footage of the game was available except blurry videos made with a cell phone camera. And what's with ME compassion? Is it that hard to believe that i disliked the game?
If you want to at least pretend that you're not just trying to bash 360 games, you should space out threads doing so by more than an hour or two.

I'm not bashing anything, OMG. I just like Stalker very much and i hate to see it being ripped off like that.

Metro 2033 setting is quite different from STALKER and most of all their gameplay is very different. Metro 2033 is like Bioshock or newest Wolfenstein instead of STALKER. Anyway..metro 2033 devs were in original STALKER team, so they might have been inspired a little atmosphere-wise, but gameplay is different. Funny thing is..Deep Shadows is another dev made from ex GSC guys and their game (Boiling Point) was reverse of Metro 2033: it had similiar gameplay to STALKER (open world FPS), but completely different setting
The only thing Metro 2033 and stalker practically have in common is the post-apocalyptic setting with western europe/russian overtones. Metro 2033 is really linear, polar opposite to stalker in gameplay and progression.

Zing
I do agree that the art style is about the same. But gameplaywise I doubt they are anything alike. STALKER always stood out to me as a first person survival game, where Metro is more of a corridor shooter.I do think that I will hold STALKER in a higher reguard when I get metro, since there has been some talking about the gameplay from reporters and people who playied it (thier reactions was something of a mixed bag).Im gonna get metro tho, without a doubt :P I love that kind of setting and mood.

Their forums are derelict, and some weird spambots pretending to be administrators send me some messages on there every now and then...It's scary...

it's a bit early to tell, i didn't see enough of this game, anywayit doesn't look so special from what i have seen so far.
Very similar, but stalker was great, so why not this too?

I mean they did release Precursors merely two months ago in Russia. It's often for russian devs to ignore their websites unfortunately. I remember that the last mention about Cryostasis on it's devs site was 2 years old :D

Sucks that neither White Gold nor Precursors got English versions...Are there any competent fan-made ones out there? And by the way I've heard Precursors is just re-skinned Boiling Point/White Gold...Is that true? I was looking forward to it.

I don't know, there is only Russian version available, and I didn't bother with it...
