Now's the perfect time for Sega to make ...

With Shenmue 3, console war would be ova. Now's the perfect time for Sega to make ...
Agreed. The market is clamoring for another console, and Shemnue 3 would be an instant system seller. Sega might as well order their solid-gold spaceships in advance. Now's the perfect time for Sega to make ...
I honestly think it would be sweet if SEGA made another console.

Solid gold space ship sounds awesome :P

On topic, that would be the official death of Sega. 3 consoles is enough, especially with dev costs so high.

It would take a miracle for Sega to pry enough marketshare away from nintendo, sony, and MS to sustain itself, let alone turn a profit.
I'd rather them remain dev/publisher and make games rather than try to push out a console in the prime of others' hardware cycle during a recession.
with SEGA's current advertising policy, it will come out without anyone knowing, then disappear and blame on ''adverse market conditions''

so, no.
As much as I love Shenmue I %26 II, I wouldn't buy another console just to play that game.I much rather prefer if they released it on ps3 or 360.
Shenmue couldn't save the Dreamcast...Besides, SEGA gave what little fanbase they had left to Xbox. They don't have the brand loyalty they once had. It would really have to have some interesting features and exclusives to wow the general public.

[/QUOTE]Exactly!, Maybe if they hadFinal FantasyMetal Gear SolidUnchartedMass EffectGearsHaloMaddenGrand Theft AutoFifaMonster HunterPokemonYakuzaRatchet and Clanketc, all exclusive to the Dreamcast 2, the MAYBE they might have a chance :P
Shenmue was so boring. The sega fanboys cannot stop touting this series as some sort of godsend.
With the economy the way it is right now, I can't see a 4th console on the market being sucessful at all...

Please no...I would make the arguement that the console market is healthy so long as you can keep it to a few select groups. Two consoles was good, three was better but I think four different consoles is just pushing it.

.

Could possibly gain DNF as an exclusive as well. Then it really would be all over

The fact that Its 10 years old and still wowed me is really darn impressive... I enjoyed every second was never bored playing shenmue. People complained about lack of combat but I loved that about it. It actually made the game have an identity instead of just being some beat em up game. It also made you appriciate fights, instead of the battles being non stop and getting bored of all the repetitive combat you were like '' Oh no ****s going down now... Im totally going to own this guy''.
I thought the XBOX was the Dreamcast 2 :??
Sega simply can't afford to make another big console. They would have to deal with 3 rich companies and Sega doesn't have the money to compete.
As much as I would like them to come back inside the console business, I don't think that it would be a good idea at this time.
